Hone AI Coach is a knowledgeable advisor trained on Hone’s extensive, evidence-based frameworks - ready to accelerate learners' performance. Learners can interact with the AI Coach via voice or chat mode. 

This “always-on” executive coach experience is available to:

  • Find a quick solution or revisit frameworks when challenges arise.
  • Get coached through challenges: Uncover possibilities through a coaching-style conversation that helps employees reflect and refine their ideas.
  • Discover related learning experiences within Hone’s ecosystem to keep building and applying skills over time.
     

AI Coach Best Practices

Below are the best practices for using Hone AI Coach. 

  • Leverage a sample prompt to acclimate yourself to the Coach.
  • Schedule a recurring task or meeting to dedicate weekly coaching sessions.
  • Use the Personalize feature to get more relevant guidance.

You can apply these executive coaching best practices to your Hone AI experience. The more proactive, open, and action-oriented you are, the greater the return on your investment in executive coaching.

  • Set Clear Intentions/Goals: Decide what you want the AI Coach to help with—leadership clarity, stress management, communication practice, or growth tracking. The clearer your intentions, the more useful and personalized the AI’s support will be.
  • Precision drives better insights: Be Specific with Prompts; context will help you get the coaching you need(“give me feedback on how to present quarterly results with confidence to skeptical stakeholders”). 
  • Use It in the Flow of Work: Don’t wait for big milestones; ask for quick input on emails, prep for a difficult conversation, or a high-pressure meeting. Embedding the coach into daily routines builds consistency.
  • Reflect and Adapt: After trying an AI-suggested approach, reflect: What worked? What didn’t? Then loop back with the AI for refinements. This creates a feedback cycle that mirrors live coaching.

AI Coach Individual Personalization

  1. Log in as a learner at https://app.honehq.com/.
  2. Navigate to the AI Coach from the left-hand panel.
  3. Click 'Personalize'
  4. Select 'Add insight' 
  • Learners can enter their insights, such as their role description, goals, performance feedback, development interests, and assessments. 

5. Start interacting with Hone AI Coach via chat or voice mode. 

  • You can start by asking it to help you prepare for an upcoming meeting with your manager or leadership team, or for guidance on how to give feedback to a colleague.
  • Review the AI Coach Best Practice section to prepare for your interaction. 

 

AI Coach in Slack

Now, learners can access the AI Coach feature directly in Slack. This means that employees now have access to an always-on AI coach they can message directly in Slack – via desktop or mobile – to navigate challenges, build skills, and become more effective leaders and teammates.

Please note that your organization must have the Slack integration enabled to access Hone's AI Coach in Slack. Please check with the Learning Leader at your organization for more information.

FAQ

  • Hone AI Coach needs to be activated by the organization’s admin, and learners are required to have Membership access.
  • Information entered into AI Coach remains confidential and is not visible to Hone admins or anyone else.
  • Your personalized insights are visible only to you. Your organization’s admin may provide organizational context to the AI Coach to provide you with better guidance and coaching. Nothing you say or do will affect another user’s private profile and vice versa.
  • Learners will need to give Hone microphone permissions in their browser if they would like to proceed with the conversational AI Coach experience. Hone will initially ask learners for permission, but if a learner accidentally says 'no' and then needs to change it later, the platform can't re-prompt them; they need to give permission to the microphone.
  • What can Hone AI Coach help me with? What prompts should I use?
    • Hone AI Coach is here to support you with the everyday situations, challenges, and conversations you face at work. You can ask it for guidance, practice, or a step-by-step plan, just like you would with a human coach.
    • Whether you want help preparing for a conversation, developing a skill, or navigating your goals, you can start with a simple question or prompt. Here are some examples of prompts you can try:
      • Prioritization & Delegation
        • “Can you help me identify ways to better prioritize or delegate my work?”
        • “I’m overwhelmed. What should I focus on first?”
      • Stress Management
        • “Will you give me guidance on managing work stressors?”
        • “How can I stay calm and focused during a high-pressure week?”
